13.1 Thelma and Louise

Sarah was really excited to have "a NUMBER!" I think this was her 1st race!

June 1st FINALLY came! I kinda thought it never would but it did and Sarah and I finally ran our Half Marathon! 

Sarah and I "officially" started training for this race Dec 1st! We've run in some pretty extreme weather! We would run through the golf course at night with headlamps and flashlights in the freezing cold, you couldn't have enough on. Seems like forever ago. And the heat...oh the heat....is a terrible thing! The thinner the clothes the better. :) It has all been worth it though! I think we had a good time through it all!

Im not sure I really ever want to run another one, its kinda hard lol. By mile 9-10 I was ready to be picked up! But we both finished and I'm glad that I can say, "I did it! And my body is capable of doing it!"

As for Sarah she really enjoyed it and is ready for the next one! Ill stick with 10k and under :)

My time was 2:52 and Sarah's was 2:40, yeah she's a champ!!!

Jessica made us these really cool shirts for the race! Everyone in the race had a buddy that they  were dressed similar to! It was fun! Sarah was Thelma and I was Louise! 

And let me tell you that shirt tells the truth because anyone who would run a whole  Marathon, I believe has to be insane! 

After the race! 

Things this experience has brought/taught me...

• First and foremost I've gained a great friendship I otherwise might not have made without running. 
• Muscle!!! Sarah I are pretty proud of our leg muscles! :)
• The body is an amazing thing and capable of so much!
• Never run long distances in a new pair of shoes...trust me.
• A braid is better than a bun.
• Never trust the distance on your i-pod...its probably wrong.
• Just keep running...it does get easier or I guess it doesn't get easier you just get stronger!
• The mind is a very powerful thing! Learn to think positively! 
• People will wave at you weather they know you or not. 
• Running will give you confidence.
• Double knot your shoe laces.
• I do like to run!
• The world is a beautiful place and God loves us!
