I've had something on my mind for a while that id like to share.
Every Summer I think, "This summer was the best, I'll never have another summer this good." But every year, every summer so far I have been proven wrong, they just keep getting better!
This summer has been particularly good because of the people the Lord has placed in my life to help teach me a few very important things! At least they are important to me. I can honestly say there isn't one person Ive met or made friends with this summer who hasn't had some sort of positive influence on me in some way or another! Thank you everyone! :)
The first thing I've been taught and shown over and over and over again is "KINDNESS!" I think I thought as long as I wasn't rude to someone that meant I was nice to them but its SO much more than that. Ive realized that kindness is an action word! Its reaching out to people and making friends and taking every opportunity you have to be kind. No one will ever hate you for being nice... which brings me to the next thing I learned...
"CONFIDENCE!"
I think of all the friends that I've made this summer and how I probably wouldn't have met them if they wouldn't have first reached out and friended me. Ive realized that no one is ever going to be angry at me for introducing myself and trying to get to know people. Sometimes we are scared and or shy to go out of our comfort zones and meet new people but its definitely worth it and the positives heavily outweigh the negatives, if any! Think of all the friendships we could be missing out on because of fear!
Finally, "BE MYSELF!"
"Today you are you, that is truer than true, there is no one alive that is you-er than you! Shout aloud I am glad to be what I am, thank goodness I'm not a clam or a ham or a dusty jar of gooseberry jam! I am what I am, what a great thing to be, If I say so myself, Happy Everyday To Me!"

Have fun, be yourself, have confidence, be kind, and don't worry too much about what others think of you!
