Michigan

I did it, ive finally flown on a plane and it really wasnt exciting but it wasnt boring either. It was like riding in a car mixed with riding on a roller coaster and an elevator. It was really neat to be up that high and look down on Utah and whatever else we flew over. We actually flew over the Grand Canyon and that was pretty sweet! The highest ive ever been was Mt. Peal and that was awesome but it was cool to look down on something that i stood on...anyway moving on. Grandma and Grandpa took JoDee and I to the airport and dropped us off and we went in and well, Jo pretty much took care of everything and I just followed her which was nice i probably would have been really confused and lost if she wasnt there. And well its not so excting that im going to tell you about it in detail...you drop your luggage off, stand in line, take your shoes off and such then go through security and wait to board, the end. On our flight from SLC to Phoenix which was about an hour we sat by some sort of emergency exit so there were only 2 seats so we sat there! I would have to say my favorite part about flying is looking out the window! Its so neat! On our second flight i sat in the middle of Jo and some guy who i was glad didnt stink and was a normal size because the seats are small and you are very close.
When we got to Detroit it was raining/snowing and foggy so i couldnt really see anything.  Being in Michigan makes me feel...kinda lost i guess, i cant find the word im looking for...because there are no mountains...theres nothing higher than you and i never really thought that would be weird but it is. Its just flat as far as you can see, nothing breaks it up and there are trees everywhere. I like to look at the trees when we drive cuz they are just so dense and they look pretty cool right now all covered in snow. I wish there was a mountain here because I think it would be really cool to look down on.
The stop lights in Michigan just kinda crack me up. They hang from wire, ALL the lights ive seen so far anyway...theyre just so strange...ill post some pics of them so you can just see how strange they are.
Michigan also has some pretty sweet water towers. In Utah they usually sit on the side of the mountain and are big and round but here they look like chess pieces and i call them pin needles and they seem to be everywhere. They're pretty neat lookin. The one i'll post is called "The King"...I named him.
I think the thing I love the most about this place is the houses. They are so cute and older looking. Today we drove up to Frankfort and saw Lake Michigan and there were tons of these awesome lookin houses! We got out to take pictures of the lake and holy camoly it was freezing but it was so beautiful and it was kinda overwhelming to think about that much water and to see it never end, that probably sounds weird but its just like...WATER! Anyway then we drove up to Traverse City and ate at the Olive Garden, mmm mmm good!!!
